My Style of Learning Testing

Testing is not just about  writing test scenarios, test cases, executing it,  finding bugs etc…Its core concepts is something different . To me the real testing is about to “appreciate the product”. Finding “N” number of bugs doesn't mean that  we have done good testing. Bug finding is a part of it and helps for a few extend for the product quality. The good testing  approach is like one who explore the application, understand the purpose and giving good suggestion against requirement and could analyze the risk at the requirement phase itself.
How should a tester should be?  For the people like developers and others who are involved in the project, to them the testers  might be a negative thinkers. But on my point of view testers are quality builders. So testers should know how to appreciate a  product. Know the requirement,  keep questioning till you understand the requirement, explore the apps, know the risk of using and not using certain apps, tell your suggestion, interact with the developers and also with the client if applicable, if not explain to the business people about the product features, Don’t be compromised with the number of bugs you are finding  and also the bugs  you found was rejected by the developers. Know the reason for rejecting the issues. Give a detailed report about the issue you found. Know the end users who are going to use the application, think from their perspective and do test , then you will come to know how user friendly it is. Don’t have a mindset that tested product has no bugs and don’t tell any software apps as a bug free  software.
Try to give your own definition for the things you know and try to learn ideas of great testers , but  don’t try to be like them . Always prefer to be in your own style. So execute and implement it in your style. Be a follower of a great people and later try to make them as your follower. Don’t always walk on others  suggestion and ideas. Walk in your own foot( I mean test ideas) and create your own style(Testing approach).
As  I said year of experience is nothing to do with skills, so develop your skills and execute it in a right way and one day you could see a list of followers and the people whom you followed, will follow your path to find you. Smile
Suggestion: When you feel something is good and it is not mentioned in the requirement and the one which you feel is not preferable,  tell to the business people or a client. This is how I “appreciate a product” in other words like “ taking care for the quality of a product”. I learned and still wish to learn  testing from by testing guru. But I won’t  prefer to follow his own style, instead I love to implement it in a different way and I say it’s  “My style of learning testing”.  Smile..

“Always prefer to be  a leader than follower”.   “Learn things from a great people and always try to implement it in a different way (i.e.) Your own style”.
